Speaking in Tongues

A fox’s call disturbs
this cushioned groove.
It’s reverberating sound
sets-off a lone dog barking.
They speak in tongues
of things only wolves know.
In low and high notes.
Hidden in the pitch-black.
Connected through evolution
and the light of a shuttered moon.
